Activities Mt Lyford

During your stay with us go down to Mt Lyford Lodge for a meal or a drink, located at the turn off to Mt Lyford (only 3 km from the village). They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner in New Zealand's largest log building with sky TV for those important rugby matches!



Tennis                       Two tennis courts are available for public use for a small fee. Due to earthquake damage these courts are currently not operational.
Mountain biking      Explore Mt Lyford and surrounding bush on your mountain bike. We can organise access to well-formed tracks over local farmland for you for a small fee. Follow the LINK for more information.
Cycling                        During your Alpine Pacific triangle cycle trip, stop for the night at Mt Lyford Holiday Homes and we will look after you, meals included.



Ice-skating                                       Situated in Mt Lyford Village is this great outdoor ice skating rink. Skate hire available; also open in evenings under lights and with music. A guaranteed magical atmosphere !
Ski field    Mt Lyford Alpine Resort ( The sunny Terako ski area, an ideal family field, offers a great learners area as well as challenging runs for intermediate and advanced skiers. The day lodge/restaurant and car park is centrally located.
